As we enter the final quarter of the year, the UK travel industry is navigating a mixed economic landscape, with persistent inflation and weakening consumer sentiment putting pressure on household budgets. Demand for holidays remains resilient, with strong forward bookings, though later booking patterns continue to cloud short-term visibility.
When travel businesses renew their ATOL, they forecast the number of passengers they plan to carry over the next 12 months. The resulting authorised passenger total is a good indicator of the state of the sector. Following the September renewal, we’ve conducted an in-depth review of this latest data and updated our interactive graph. Plus, we have four essential insights we think you’ll find valuable.
